The National Republican Guard (GNR) arrested a 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman in Penacova on April 8, on suspicion of drug trafficking.
In a statement, officials revealed that in addition to the couple, two women, aged 18 and 46, were also named as suspects during the same police operation.
The GNR’s investigation, which had been ongoing for about a year, resulted not only in the arrests but also in the seizure of 397.38 doses of hashish, 60 euros, and various materials associated with the crime.
All suspects were charged, and the details were forwarded to the Judicial Court of Penacova.
After appearing in court, the detainees were required to report daily to the nearest GNR station to their residences.
The GNR revealed that the operation was bolstered by the assistance of a drug detection dog team from Coimbra.
