
A couple was arrested a week ago at a commercial establishment after attempting to leave the store with various goods without paying.
The Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP), through the Loures Police Division, reported that the man and woman, aged 36 and 37, respectively, were detained on June 6, on suspicion of fraud.
According to a statement from the police force, “the officers were called to the location by the store’s security team, which had detained the couple after they crossed the checkout line without paying for goods totaling 283.98 euros.”
During the investigation, “it was found that the labels on the items had been removed, and one label was discovered inside the suspect’s bag.”
The suspect couple was arrested and released after being notified to appear at the Lisbon North Judicial Court – Loures.
