According to a source from the Porto Metropolitan Command of the PSP, the man who suffered injuries from a bladed weapon was transported to Hospital de Pedro Hispano in Matosinhos, Porto district, but has already been discharged. This man is believed to have been the aggressor and has been notified to appear in court for a hearing.
The second man, who was shot, was transported to Hospital de Santo António in Porto, where he underwent surgery and remains hospitalized under observation, according to the same source.
Jornal de Notícias reports in today’s edition that the man was shot in the chest on Rua das Pias in Custóias by another man who suspected him of having a romantic relationship with his wife.
“The victim’s wife allegedly stabbed the aggressor, who turned himself in to the PSP. The alleged affair was already known in the neighborhood,” JN reports.
According to accounts from local residents cited by JN, the suspect went to the victim’s house, upset about the relationship he believed the victim was having with his partner.
“The two men ended up engaging in mutual aggression outside the house. In an attempt to help her husband, the wife allegedly stabbed the attacker. The attacker then reportedly fired a shot that hit the other man in the chest. Subsequently, the shooting suspect turned himself in at the PSP station in Custoias, where he allegedly admitted to the crime,” the newspaper adds.
