As of today, the “open house” mode is available for all phases of the covid-19 vaccination, announced the Joint Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS) and the Directorate General of Health (DGS).

In a joint statement, SPMS and DGS explain that all citizens eligible to receive the vaccine can go to the vaccination points, stressing that both primary or booster vaccination for people aged 18 and over and seasonal booster vaccination for priority groups will be available.

People aged five years and older can also go to vaccination centres without an appointment for the primary covid-19 vaccination. Use of the digital password is optional.

The authorities remind that the booster dose is available to citizens aged 18 years and older “who have completed the primary covid-19 vaccination and have not been infected for less than 90 days”.

The seasonal vaccination campaign against covid-19 will start in September 2022. Three million doses of the vaccine have been administered so far, mostly booster doses – initially for people over 60 and later for those over 50.

Since September 2022, more than 1.7 million people have been vaccinated simultaneously against covid-19 and influenza.

In the initial phase, the schedule was phased by age group, starting with the most vulnerable, to protect them and prevent serious illness, hospitalisation and death.

Already this year, for more than a month, it has been possible to schedule the vaccination through the SNS 24 portal, starting from the age of 45 and going down to the age of 18.

The “open house” method works in the various vaccination centres throughout the country. The opening hours can be consulted at https://covid19.min-saude.pt/casa-aberta/.
