The railway company CP announced that there will be no changes to the commercial service on the Douro Line, particularly between Marco de Canaveses and Régua, countering recent reports.
The company acknowledged plans to return some UTD 592 series railcars, currently serving the regional line, to Renfe as they reach the limits of contractual use.
However, CP assured that this will not lead to the cancellation of any trains.
Additionally, the company stated that it adjusts the allocation of available rolling stock to better meet customer needs and mobility requirements.
CP concluded that the ongoing electrification of certain lines and the arrival of new trains will allow for the reassignment of diesel units, among others, to the Douro Line.
