“This is an important step in the strategy of expanding and consolidating the national network of hospitals, clinics, and health centers of CUF. Strengthening the commitment to the Oeste region will provide a more differentiated and comprehensive response to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and support needs of families,” stated Rui Diniz, chairman of the executive committee of CUF, in a press release.
The new building, constructed from scratch in Quinta das Pevides with an area of 1,700 square meters, replaces the facilities inaugurated in 2014 in Mafra, a municipality in the Lisbon district experiencing demographic growth, with a current population of 86,000 according to the latest 2021 Census.
The investment will also create more than a hundred new jobs compared to the existing ones and will expand and diversify the provision of healthcare services, employing a total of 230 staff members.
The new clinic, with a floor dedicated to healthcare activities, features 19 consultation offices and three exam rooms, enabling the expansion of services in various medical and surgical specialties, including Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Gynecology-Obstetrics, Otorhinolaryngology, Cardiology, and Pediatrics.
The enhancement of healthcare services also includes consultations and exams in Dental Medicine and the performance of mammograms and magnetic resonances, along with other complementary diagnostic and therapeutic means, such as x-rays, obstetric ultrasounds, clinical analyses, nursing treatments, among others.
The new space will also have a playground and parking facilities.
