The CURVA Festival marks the debut of Portugal’s first collaborative festival, occurring from July 3rd to 5th across more than 12 venues in over seven cities nationwide.
The festival features 60 artists over three days in an inclusive, decentralized, and free program.
The organizers disclosed that CURVA is a “direct response to the efforts by Circuito, the leading network focused on enhancing and developing venues and clubs with their own live music programming in Portugal, encompassing 17 venues countrywide.”
The program’s two main focuses are “greater inclusivity in the proposed artistic projects and a more decentralized array of performances.”
This initiative marks the first time “so many national venues unite in a coordinated effort to create a consciously curated program. From July 3rd to 5th, 12 venues across Portugal will host the events: B.Leza (Lisboa), Lounge (no fixed location), Damas (Lisboa), Lux Frágil (Lisboa), Maus Hábitos (Porto), Musicbox (Lisboa), Salão Brazil (Coimbra), Socorro (Porto), Barreirinha Bar Café (Funchal), Carmo 81 (Viseu), SHE (Évora), and Texas (Leiria).
The lineup features well-established names in Portuguese music alongside emerging and nascent projects, presenting new voices on some of the country’s most iconic stages.
The 60 confirmed acts include: Roda de Santo, Diadorim, Encruzo (concert-performance), Suzana, Herlander, Puçanga, Dj Princesa, Mamma Tehrani, Filipe Sambado, gabre, Mayan, DIDI, As Docinhas, bbb hairdryer, Colar de Rapariga, Sapatrux, Francis Salema, Davi Santiago, Surma, Cavala, Travo, Umafricana, Flor, Bleid, IBSXJAUR, Sónia Trópicos, O Triunfo dos Acéfalos, Rezmorah, Arrogance Arrogance, Felipe Neiva, Lagryma, Nouå, Pablo Vidal, Astrea, Amigas, Holocausto Canibal, Lil Mami Barbz, Hermanes de Xota, Aurora nas Nuvens, Caliente Isa, VAIAPRAIA, Saya, OXHALA, Reina del Mar, Carolina Miragaia, ØTZ por Rita Shoarma, Vander, Daniel Knox, Tren Go! Soundsystem, INÊS APENAS, margô, and Dakoi.
Attendance at all CURVA performances is entirely free, subject only to the venues’ capacities.
