Cyndi Lauper debuts in Portugal at Rock in Rio Lisboa

“Cyndi Lauper is the latest addition to the ‘Legends Day’ lineup and will perform on the Palco Mundo stage on June 27,” announced the Rock in Rio Lisboa organizers in a statement released today.

The Rock in Rio Lisboa 2026 will take place on June 20, 21, 27, and 28 at Parque Tejo, an open-air venue by the Tagus River near Parque das Nações in the eastern part of the capital.

Cyndi Lauper, an iconic figure in 1980s music, will make her debut in Portugal as part of her “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour,” which began last October in Canada.

Known for hits like “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Time After Time,” and “True Colors,” the 72-year-old singer is also an advocate for human rights. In 2008, she founded True Colors United, an organization addressing youth homelessness, focusing on the LGBTQIA+ community.

The June 27 lineup will also feature performances by Rod Stewart, 4 Non Blondes, Joss Stone, Xutos & Pontapés, GNR, UHF, Táxi, and Syro.

The 11th edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa, with a lineup yet to be completed, also includes Katy Perry, Pedro Sampaio, Calema, and Napa on June 20, and Linkin Park, Cypress Hill, Grandson, Kaiser Chiefs, Hoobastank, Blasted Mechanism, and Tara Perdida on June 21.

Daily tickets for June 20, 21, and 27 are priced at 89 euros and are currently available for purchase.

The Rock in Rio Lisboa dates for 2026 were announced in February, promising “enhancements in several areas” of the venue.

According to organizers, in 2026, the public area will increase to 145,000 square meters, 15,000 square meters more than in 2024, ensuring more space for movement and greater comfort for all, as well as expanded audiences for all stages.

Additionally, there will be a 40% increase in restrooms, a 30% increase in food areas, new rest zones, and an enhanced transportation and mobility plan.

In 2024, the 10th edition of Rock in Rio Lisboa attracted 300,000 spectators over four days. The event featured bands and artists such as Scorpions, Macklemore, Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Lucas Graham, Ne-Yo, Ivete Sangalo, MC Cabelinho, Luísa Sonza, Ornatos Violeta, and Fernando Daniel.
