The decision was made on Wednesday by the Secretary of State for Fiscal Affairs, Cláudia Reis Duarte, through an order published on the Tax Portal.
This extension follows issues with the Tax Portal during the last two days of the deadline for submitting records of invoices issued in October.
Under normal conditions, the deadline for submission would have been November 5.
“I determine that the communication of invoices referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 3 of Decree-Law No. 198/2012, dated August 24, relating to the month of October of the current year, may be carried out, without any additions or penalties, until November 7, 2025,” writes the government official.
The Secretary of State’s decision considers that “there were constraints in the functioning of the Tax Portal on November 4 and 5, which hindered the submission of SAF-T files,” as stated in the order.
According to the regulation governing the submission of SAF-T files, companies are required to submit, by the 5th day of the month following the issuance of invoices, the “elements of the issued invoices” and “elements of documents that allow for the verification of goods or service delivery and receipts”.
