The consumer rights association Deco has called for intervention from ANAC and the Public Prosecutor to launch legal action against a policy by an airline. This policy mandates passengers to download an app and prevents them from traveling with physical documents, which Deco finds unjustified.
In a statement, Deco expressed concerns over “another measure by the airline that discriminates against and complicates life for passengers who do not possess smartphones or are less familiar with digital tools.”
“After introducing significant fees for airport check-in, the airline’s new maneuver once again penalizes consumers with less digital proficiency and could result in longer queues at airports,” it stated.
Ryanair recently announced that starting November 12, printed boarding passes will no longer be accepted, requiring passengers to exclusively use digital boarding passes.
The association deems this requirement an “abusive imposition,” lacking “any regulatory technical justification.”
