On April 5, a 36-year-old man was arrested by the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) in the Serra da Luz area of Lisbon, under suspicion of domestic violence.
In a communication, the law enforcement agency detailed that officers observed the suspect delivering punches to the victim, later identified as his girlfriend.
“Given the assaults witnessed by the officers,” the suspect was “promptly detained.”
The victim required “hospital treatment” due to the injuries sustained.
The detainee was presented to the judicial authority, and measures were enforced, including a prohibition of contact with the victim and a restriction on approaching within 500 meters, enforced through electronic bracelet monitoring.
