The Public Security Police (PSP) in Setúbal announced the arrest of a 39-year-old man on Thursday during a cinema session at the Alegro Shopping Center. This action was to enforce a substitute prison sentence of 160 days, as stated by the district police command.
The PSP communicated that “due to the suspect’s behavior, it was necessary to take advantage of a public appearance moment in Setúbal to proceed with his interception.”
The detention was executed under a warrant requiring a payment of 1,440 euros. However, as the detainee did not have this amount at the time, he was transported to the Setúbal Prison to serve the sentence.
The PSP in Setúbal acknowledged that the “detention involved interruption of the cinema session” and highlighted “the total commitment of the operational resources, which provided essential support for the success of the police action.”
