The Portuguese Development Bank has provided guaranteed loans to companies amounting to 5.150 billion euros up to October, announced Castro Almeida during a joint parliamentary hearing with the Agriculture and Fisheries and Budget, Finance, and Public Administration committees.
The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion stated that this amount is ten times higher than the support given in the previous year, which was 539 million euros.
The number of supported companies increased from 2,400 to 12,500.
“This shows the extent of the energy with which the Development Bank is supporting companies,” the minister commented.
