The director of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine at the Lisboa Norte Hospital Center, Diogo Ayres de Campos, has been removed for questioning the restructuring project at Santa Maria Hospital and the collaboration with St. Francis Xavier Hospital.

According to a note issued today by the Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Norte (CHLN), the management of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine has taken positions that “repeatedly called into question the construction project and the collaborative process with the São Francisco Xavier Hospital during the construction of the new maternity ward at HSM [Santa Maria Hospital].

The CHLN management recalls that this hospital center is undergoing “a restructuring process in the Obstetrics area”, in view of the need to ensure “a close articulation with the service” in the scope of the new maternity project (new delivery block, expansion of the puerperal ward and the Neonatology Service) at Santa Maria.
