DJ leader of prostitution network in preventive detention. Brazilian partner too.

The Brazilian DJ, who was arrested in Lisbon as part of the Last Massage operation, is among the suspects who have been remanded in custody after appearing for an initial judicial interrogation.

The Police of Public Security (PSP) has confirmed that, in addition to DJ Rebeka Episcopo, suspected of leading the prostitution network under investigation in this case, another Brazilian identified as Jacimara Berwig has also been remanded. She is believed to be an accomplice of the DJ, and both were partners in establishments dedicated to prostitution.

On Monday, it was noted that three out of the six detainees were remanded, including a PSP officer who was detained while on prolonged sick leave.

The other three defendants have been released but are required to surrender their passports, with restrictions placed on contacting each other and leaving the country.

Known as Beka, the DJ has resided in Europe for over 30 years, lived in Portugal, and was a resident DJ at Pure Ibiza Radio in Spain, although she participated in numerous events.

Rebeka is also known as a producer, entrepreneur, and international model, boasting over 65,000 social media followers. Notably, she identifies herself as the owner of two Nuru spas, located in Lisbon and Cascais.

The case also involves an officer on leave who has been detained.

On April 1, six individuals aged between 29 and 57 were arrested by the PSP in Lisbon for promoting prostitution and committing tax fraud against Social Security.

The arrests were executed by the Criminal Investigation Division, involving five arrest warrants, eight home search warrants, and nine non-home search warrants.

During the operation, authorities seized a .22 caliber firearm, two magazines, two 12mm caliber rifles, along with 32 rounds of 12 caliber ammunition and nine pepper spray cans.

Additionally, various electronic devices were confiscated, including 17 mobile phones, eight computers, three tablets, 18 portable storage units, a surveillance system, and a portable radio communication device, alongside 107,565 euros in cash, two bank cards, five automatic payment terminals, and two bank cheques valued at 5,000 euros each.

The searches also yielded several items used in the practice of pandering and documentation related to the organization and management of the establishments linked to the crimes.
