
A dolphin in distress was discovered on Tuesday at Lagoa, Foz do Arelho Beach, and was successfully returned to the sea.
The incident was publicized on social media by the Caldas da Rainha Volunteer Firefighters, who responded to a “special assistance request.”
The alert was issued at 08:09 by the president of the Foz do Arelho Parish Council, seeking aid for a dolphin struggling in the Lagoa, Foz do Arelho Beach.
The firefighters dispatched a team equipped with an aquatic rescue vehicle to the scene. However, upon arrival, it was confirmed that no intervention was necessary, as efforts at the location had already facilitated the return of “the animal to the water.”
“This incident had a happy ending, and the dolphin continued on its way,” highlighted the Caldas da Rainha Firefighters.
