The allocation of 75,000 pipes (550 liters each) of must for Port wine production emerged as the main outcome from the harvest statement approved today by the interprofessional council of the Institute of Douro and Port Wines (IVDP), which convened in Peso da Régua, Vila Real district. Last year, this figure was set at 90,000 pipes, marking a reduction of 15,000 pipes.
“This meeting resulted in a unanimous decision regarding the quantity of must to be allocated for the 2025 harvest, which was approved at 75,000 pipes,” stated IVDP President Gilberto Igrejas.
According to the official, this figure primarily signifies “a message of responsibility for the region.”
