An instructor, aged 46, has been identified by the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) for the improper use of a mandatory electronic recording device in a driving school’s vehicle in the municipality of Almada, Setúbal.
In a statement provided to Notícias ao Minuto, the GNR disclosed that the operation took place during a road inspection in Costa da Caparica.
The officers stopped a driving instruction vehicle and found that the instructor was misusing the mandatory electronic device, which is meant to record the driving hours and kilometers covered by each learner.
The equipment in question, according to the GNR, was incorrectly marking a lesson as being attended by a student who was not in the vehicle, a serious irregularity in the training process.
The officers emphasized that, to be eligible for the practical exam, learners must complete 32 hours of driving and cover 500 kilometers, requirements monitored via this device.
