Contacted by Lusa, a company source did not disclose the cause of the malfunction at the hydroelectric plant in the place of France, parish of Sopo, Vila Nova de Cerveira.
The same source confirmed the information previously revealed to Lusa by the Alto Minho Sub-regional Command of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC).
A source from the Alto Minho Sub-regional Command stated that the power outage is affecting areas including Caminha, Vila Praia de Âncora, Vila Nova de Cerveira, and Ponte de Lima.
There are nine operatives on site, comprising firefighters, GNR, and a team from E-Redes.
