
An increase in the economic indicator in the EU is attributed to improved confidence in the industry, services, and consumer sectors, while there was a decline in retail trade and stability in construction, according to the European Commission.
Among the five largest European economies, economic sentiment decreased in the Netherlands (-0.7 points) and Germany (-0.4), while it improved in Spain (3.0), Italy (0.7), France (0.3), and Poland (0.1).
The employment expectations indicator, on the other hand, fell by 0.9 points in the EU compared to August (to 97.1) and by 1.3 in the euro area, reaching 96.4 points.
