EDP Renováveis’ profit drops 56% in the first semester to 93 million euros.

The EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) reached 948 million euros in the first half of the year, compared to 960 million euros in the same period last year.

However, the recurring EBITDA remained unchanged at 960 million euros.

The underlying recurring net profit increased by 80 million euros year-on-year, tripling compared to the previous year, “reflecting a significant improvement in the profitability of EDPR’s operating asset portfolio, with increased electricity production levels, improved operational efficiency, and reduced negative impacts that affected underlying profitability levels in the first half of last year,” the company stated.

Revenues rose by 18% year-on-year to 1.424 billion euros, due to a 2% increase in electricity sales to 1.162 billion euros and a 77 million euro increase in institutional partnership income.

Total net debt amounted to 9.004 billion euros, marking an increase of 726 million euros compared to December 2024.

EDP Renováveis, headquartered in Madrid, is a subsidiary primarily owned by the EDP Group (Energias de Portugal), operating in the renewable energy sector.

Last year, the company reported negative net results with losses of 556 million euros, attributed to negative impacts from “non-recurring items” totaling 777 million euros.
