Egyptian Abdullah Miniawy and Tó Trips perform at Leiria Castle

This year, focused over a single weekend, Ágora intertwines music, performing arts, and installations, inviting the public to “discover and rediscover the Leiria Castle through different perspectives,” the organization announced.

One of the confirmed artists is Abdullah Miniawy, who will bring the show ‘The evens, Rahma’ to Leiria, where “wind instruments stretch time in a fragile manner, floating between birdsongs and the sound of the Indian flute.”

Alongside the Egyptian artist, Leiria Castle will also host Tó Trips & Fake Latinos, the new project from the Dead Combo guitarist, featuring Alexandre Frazão, António Quintino, and Helene Espvall, who will present the album ‘Dissidente.’

The lineup, not yet fully disclosed, also includes the band Memória de Peixe, which recently released the album ‘III,’ percussionist and composer Pedro Almiro, and Raquel André, who brings a performance to Leiria where music and visuals converge.

The Ágora initiative results from a collaboration between the producer Omnichord and the municipality of Leiria, aiming to make the Leiria Castle a stage for a series of artistic proposals that promote the monument as “a meeting place between the present and what is yet to come,” the organization emphasized.

Entry to the various events is included in the standard admission ticket to the Leiria Castle, which is free for residents of the municipality.
