The districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Coimbra, and Braga are under a yellow weather warning from 9:00 PM today until 6:00 AM on Sunday, September 7th.
In the districts of Viseu, Santarém, and Leiria, the warning is in effect from midnight to 9:00 AM on Sunday.
There is a forecast for periods of rain, occasionally heavy.
The IPMA has also placed the north coast of Madeira island and mountainous areas under a yellow warning from noon on Sunday due to forecasts of heavy rain.
According to IPMA information, the warning is valid until midnight on Monday, with expected “occasional heavy and persistent precipitation.”
The yellow warning is the second level in a four-tier scale (green, yellow, orange, and red) based on the severity of the forecasts.
