Eight districts under yellow warning due to rain and strong wind this Wednesday

The districts of Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, and Braga are set to be under alert from 9:00 PM today until 6:00 AM Thursday due to forecasts of southwest winds shifting to northwest, with gusts reaching up to 95 kilometers per hour in highland areas.

The IPMA has issued a yellow warning from 9:00 PM today until 6:00 AM Thursday for the districts of Viseu, Porto, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, and Braga, due to persistent rainfall transitioning to showers, at times heavy, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms.

The yellow warning, the least severe on a three-level scale, is issued whenever there is a risk situation affecting activities dependent on meteorological conditions.

IPMA forecasts for today in the mainland include periods of rain, especially in the North and Center, being more intense in Minho and Douro Litoral by the end of the day, strong winds in highland areas, and mist or fog in some places.

Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 13 degrees Celsius (in Guarda) and 19 (in Lisbon, Leiria, and Santarém) and maximums between 19 (in Guarda and Viseu) and 27 (in Évora).
