
The GNR announced that arrests were made on Wednesday by the Territorial Post of Mértola, part of the Beja Territorial Command.
The officers, who were conducting a policing operation focused on hunting activities, discovered the two men hunting in an area without the owner’s consent, as stated in the announcement.
The police operation resulted in the arrest of the two hunters in flagrante delicto and the seizure of their hunting weapons, along with 29 ammunition rounds.
The GNR also confiscated the suspects’ hunting licenses, two weapon manifest booklets, and various game pieces found in their possession.
The detained individuals were made defendants and the facts were reported to the Beja Judicial Court.
