An elderly couple, both aged 88, was found dead inside their home in Fernão Ferro this morning, having fallen victim to the heavy rain affecting the area on Thursday, November 13.
As confirmed by the Setúbal GNR to Notícias ao Minuto, the alert was raised through a 112 call made by the victims’ neighbors.
Upon arrival, authorities had to force entry through doors and windows to access the house, where the bodies of the two elderly individuals were discovered floating.
According to the same source, the house, a villa, was flooded.
GNR officers, Fernão Ferro firefighters, and a VMER vehicle were present at the scene.
