In a domestic violence case, the military officers of the Guarda intervened on Sunday, where they found that the suspect had been committing physical and psychological violence against a 77-year-old victim, leading to his immediate arrest, according to a GNR statement.
The GNR further noted that during the operation, a firearm that did not meet legal requirements was also seized.
The detainee appeared before the Judicial Court of Braga, which imposed a restraining order to keep him away from the victim.
The GNR emphasizes that domestic violence is a public crime, and reporting it is a collective responsibility.
