In a statement, the Territorial Command of Beja from the GNR announced that a man, suspected of domestic violence, was detained on Wednesday by officers from the Special Victims Support and Investigation Unit (NIAVE).
According to the GNR, following a domestic violence report, investigative measures were conducted, revealing that the suspect verbally and psychologically abused the victim.
Officers from NIAVE in Beja detained the suspect pursuant to a warrant.
Presented for a preliminary judicial hearing at the Court of Cuba, the detained individual was subjected to the coercive measures of prohibition from contacting the victim and from approaching or remaining within 250 meters of the victim’s residence, monitored by an electronic bracelet.
