A 65-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a 21-year-old man on June 11 in Arcos de Valdevez.
In a statement released Wednesday, the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) reported that the crime occurred in a university dormitory room. The suspect allegedly entered “illegally” and, while threatening the student with a knife, forced him into “sexual acts.”
Following the complaint, the PJ identified, located, and arrested the 65-year-old suspect, who was already under suspicion for a previous attempt to enter the same university residence near his home.
The suspect has since been brought before a judge for a preliminary hearing and has been remanded in custody.
