An elderly man struck two young women on a pedestrian crossing on the Rua dos Bombeiros Voluntários in Cantanhede this afternoon.
The victims, both female, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Pediatric Hospital of Coimbra as a precautionary measure, stated a source from the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) of the Coimbra Territorial Command to Notícias ao Minuto. The source confirmed that the driver, an elderly man operating a passenger vehicle, reportedly did not notice the two women on the crossing.
The incident alert was issued around 2:30 PM.
Emergency response included Cantanhede firefighters and the GNR.
