An 82-year-old woman surrendered to the GNR and was detained by the Judiciary Police after allegedly shooting at a neighboring couple on Thursday, striking a 67-year-old man twice.
A judicial source reported that she was presented for judicial interrogation today and remains in preventive detention until the conditions of a relative’s house in Porto are verified, where she will then be placed under house arrest.
In a statement, the Judiciary Police revealed today that the attempted homicide occurred on a public road in Ribeira de Pena, reportedly “for trivial reasons.”
“Armed with a firearm, the suspect fired at the victim, a 67-year-old man,” the Judiciary Police noted.
A GNR source informed Lusa on Thursday that the woman fired six shots, hitting the neighbor in the upper limbs, who was transported to Vila Real Hospital and is not in a life-threatening condition.
