One week after the release of “Lux,” the new album by Rosalía, the new tracks continue to captivate audiences, including in Portugal.
The nursing home Jardim de Outono, located in Pinhal Novo, Setúbal, shared the reactions of residents listening to the album, especially the track “Memória,” a collaboration between Rosalía and Carminho.
“Well, I’m going to cry now, it’s beautiful,” remarked one of the women captured in the footage.
Another woman, visibly moved, commented: “I think it’s beautiful.”
One resident expressed that the music “touches here a lot,” placing her hand over her heart.
Cardinal Tolentino de Mendonça also reacted
Cardinal Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Vatican Dicastery for Culture and Education, responded to the album’s release, noting that “artists are excellent conduits of language” and “allies in everyone’s quest for life’s meaning.”
“When a creator like Rosalía speaks of spirituality, it means she captures a profound need in contemporary culture to approach spiritual reasons, to cultivate an inner life, to value religious experience as a fundamental experience, a fundamental ingredient in the construction of the human being,” he said.

The album, the 13 languages, and the collaborations
Alongside Portuguese artist Carminho, the 33-year-old Spaniard collaborated with other artists, including Björk and Yves Tumor, known for the first track “Bergain.”
This fourth studio album also features artists like Estrella Morente and Sílvia Pérez Cruz, as well as the London Symphony Orchestra, directed by Icelandic composer Daníel Bjarnason, and the children’s choir from Escolania de Montserrat and the Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana.
The new album showcases a different Rosalía, singing in no fewer than 13 languages, including Ukrainian and German.
