The Public Security Police (PSP) of Santarém announced that as part of an ongoing investigation, officers from the Abrantes precinct executed four search warrants and one detention warrant on April 10, targeting a man suspected of domestic violence. The operations were aimed at gathering evidence and presenting the suspect for a preliminary judicial inquiry.
During the searches, which were carried out by the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Abrantes Precinct and the Police Division of Tomar, authorities seized 20 rounds of ammunition of various calibers and an air rifle. The man was subsequently detained and presented for a judicial inquiry.
On the same day, the suspect appeared before the Judicial Court of Santarém, where he was subjected to several restraining measures. These included electronic monitoring via an ankle bracelet, a ban on contacting the victim, and restrictions from approaching his workplace and his children’s school.
