A fire alert was issued around 2:30 PM in the União de Freguesias de Carva e Vilares, in the municipality of Murça. Strong winds are complicating efforts to control the blaze in the area, which is difficult to access.
The wildfire is burning intensely across two fronts in a mixed settlement zone.
By 5:40 PM, the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) reported the deployment of 122 personnel, 24 vehicles, and 11 aerial units to fight the fire.
