The Tax Authority (AT) issued a warning late last week regarding a fraudulent email circulating, which invites users to “access a refund.” It is a scam — do not be fooled!
“The AT is aware that some taxpayers are receiving emails supposedly from the AT, requesting them to click on provided links to allegedly access a refund,” states a note published on the Finance Portal.
The tax office advises that these messages “are false and should be ignored,” emphasizing that “their objective is to persuade the recipient to access malicious pages by clicking on the suggested links or to make undue payments.”
“Under no circumstances should you perform these actions,” the tax office warns.
