
The executive director of the National Health Service, Álvaro Almeida, acknowledged on Tuesday to journalists that the Fernando da Fonseca Hospital, commonly known as Amadora-Sintra, is facing a “serious problem” in its emergency department, where waiting times exceed ten hours.
“There is a problem, and it is a serious problem,” he stated, assuring that efforts are underway to reorganize the service to better serve the population.
