The Local Health Unit of Central Alentejo (ULSAC) announced that the Emergency Department at the Hospital do Espírito Santo de Évora (HESE), specifically in the Internal Medicine specialty, will only accept patients referred by CODU/INEM, other doctors, or SNS 24, starting from 8:00 PM today until 8:00 AM on Monday.
This period of constraint is due to “an incomplete team, caused by unforeseen reasons,” explained ULSAC, asserting that “all professionals are committed to providing the best care despite the lack of staff.”
The local health unit urged the public to “contact the SNS 24 support line and primary health care units before heading to the hospital, to be guided according to the severity of their situation.”
The Local Health Unit of Central Alentejo also reminded that 24-hour services are available at the health centers in Vendas Novas, Montemor-o-Novo, and Estremoz, in the Évora district.
