Due to a general strike in Portugal on December 11, 2025, Emirates has canceled flights EK191, EK192, EK193, and EK194, which operate between Lisbon and Dubai in both directions.
These cancellations also affect passengers with connections through Dubai on flights EK191 and EK193.
“Affected customers who booked directly with Emirates are advised to contact us for alternative options. Customers who booked through a travel agency should reach out to their agency to reschedule,” stated the airline.
The aviation sector is expected to be significantly affected by the strike, with unions associated with workers not only from airlines but also airports and ground services joining the protest.
Minimum services primarily cover TAP and Sata.
CGTP and UGT have decided to call for a general strike in response to the draft bill on labor law reform presented by the government. This will be the first joint strike by the two union federations since June 2013, when Portugal was under the ‘troika’ intervention.
