The Emirates airline, which has been flying to Angola for 16 years, marks the start of regular international operations at AIAAN, as part of the phased transfer of passenger flights from 4 de Fevereiro Airport, according to a statement from the entity managing Angola’s new international airport.
The reception of the Dubai-based airline “symbolizes the confidence of international carriers in the technical, operational, and safety conditions offered by the new airport, equipped with cutting-edge technology and designed to provide a modern and efficient travel experience,” the statement further notes.
The transfer of Emirates’ operations to the new airport, joining Angola’s TAAG which transferred its flights on October 19, “is a milestone of great significance for Angola and national civil aviation, representing the consolidation of a strategic project that positions the new airport as a regional hub and strengthens Angola’s connection to the world,” it adds.
