
A collision involving two light vehicles resulted in five serious injuries today, including two children around two years old, on the National Road (EN-102) near Torre de Moncorvo, according to local firefighters.
The incident also left two men, aged 31 and 48, and a woman, aged 39, injured. The road has been closed.
“The children were airlifted by the National Institute for Medical Emergency (INEM) helicopter to São João Hospital in Porto in serious condition,” the source stated.
The three adults were transported by ambulance to Bragança Hospital.
The EN-102 was closed for several hours to aid the victims and clear the roadway.
The alarm was raised at 3:50 PM.
As reported on the official page of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC) at 4:45 PM, 36 personnel were on-site, supported by two vehicles and the medical team from the INEM helicopter.
The Medical Emergency and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) team from INEM, based in Bragança, also joined the operation.
The GNR took charge of the situation.
