An accident occurred in the União de Freguesias de Monção e Troviscoso, in the municipality of Monção, Viana do Castelo district, with the alert being raised at 11:08, according to the Alto Minho Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
A Civil Protection representative reported that one of the severely injured individuals was transported by helicopter to the hospital in Braga, while the other was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Viana do Castelo.
The EN 202 road remained closed as of 14:20 due to ongoing road cleaning operations, it was added.
