Energy regulator imposes fines of 570 thousand euros in 13 cases.

The energy regulator announced that a total of 25 administrative offence cases were concluded in the third quarter of the year.

Among the resolved cases, the entity noted a fine of 400,000 euros imposed on Petrogal, which was reduced to 200,000 euros under a settlement procedure. The company was penalized for several violations including failing to record and store phone calls, not compensating customers, providing incorrect billing elements, and failing to timely respond to information requests from call centers, among other issues.

Additionally, Gás Serviço Universal was fined 140,000 euros, reduced to 70,000 euros, for not submitting customer requests to the logistical operator within the required five working days and failing to provide information to customers.

The energy regulator also highlighted fines imposed on G9 Telecom, amounting to 12,000 euros for not providing information to customers and incorrect billing configurations, and on Sonorgás, fined 6,000 euros, reduced to 3,000 euros, for failing to provide contract-related information to customers.

The settlement procedure provides for a reduced fine in exchange for confession of the acts committed, acknowledgment of the responsibility for the infraction, waiver of judicial litigation, and compensation to affected consumers.

From July to September, 12 new administrative offence cases were initiated following supervisory actions and external complaints.
