Engine drivers and inspectors of CP are observing the penultimate day of strike today.

Strikes organized by several CP unions began on May 7 and are set to continue until this Wednesday.

From Monday to Wednesday, minimum services, as determined by the Arbitration Court, are being adhered to.

The workers are demanding wage increases, the implementation of a restructuring agreement for salary scales, and the protection of collective bargaining.

The Train Drivers’ Union (SMAQ) is observing its fourth day of strike action regarding overtime today, which will continue until Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Itinerant Commercial Review Railway Union (SFRCI) commenced a strike involving ticket inspectors and ticket office workers on Sunday.

The partial strike involving ticket inspectors and ticket office personnel began on the 11th and will conclude on the 14th, taking place between 5:00 AM and 8:30 AM.

Throughout the past week, CP – Comboios de Portugal has been warning about the disruptions caused by these strikes.

On Monday, the strike by train drivers and inspectors resulted in the cancellation of 632 trains (59%) out of the 1,071 scheduled until 7:00 PM, primarily affecting urban trains in Lisbon, according to CP.
