The National Republican Guard (GNR) arrested a 32-year-old man on Wednesday for breaking and entering and the theft of electric mopeds in Peniche, located in the municipality of Lourinhã.
The authorities were alerted to the theft following a report indicating an intrusion into a house under construction.
Upon arriving at the scene, they managed to intercept the suspect, who was already outside with the two electric mopeds.
According to the GNR’s statement, the man was caught “in the act” and the two mopeds were seized.
The suspect has been formally charged, and the case will now be handled by the Judicial Court of Lourinhã.
