A young man, aged 29, was arrested on Monday by the Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) in Amadora for domestic violence charges.
The individual reportedly entered a store wielding a knife and “threatened to kill” his former partner, with whom he had ended the relationship approximately three months prior, along with their daughter.
According to the PSP statement, police officers who responded to the scene managed to intercept the young man while he was still in possession of the knife used to threaten the victims.
The detained individual has since appeared before the Judicial Court of the Lisbon West District – Amadora Judgments, where the most severe preventive detention measure was imposed.
