Errors in the migration of administrative courts “are being resolved”

Rita Alarcão Júdice, during a parliamentary hearing regarding the detailed review of the State Budget proposal for 2026 (OE2026), clarified that the entire system had been tested, emphasizing that currently all courts utilize a unified IT system—processes previously managed by the Administrative and Tax Courts Information System (SITAF) have transitioned to CITIUS.

Socialist deputy Pedro Delgado Alves inquired the Minister of Justice about the “chaotic situation” experienced during the migration from one system to another, citing examples such as magistrates lacking access to cases, erroneous distribution of cases to judges, postponed trials, and the temporary return to paper in certain instances.

“There were incidents, which are expected in a project of this scale. All of them are being resolved,” said Rita Alarcão Júdice, adding that “the migration, considering its scale, was a success.”

By the end of October, the Ministry of Justice’s services had rectified the incorrect routing of 140,000 cases of the Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum (AIMA), which stemmed from glitches recorded during the IT system migration.

In addition to resolving the AIMA cases, the services of the Ministry of Justice also corrected two other issues: the visualization of PDF documents and the correct assignment of documents to their respective cases, which had been misplaced or incorrectly displayed.
