The energy regulator has announced a fine of 180,000 euros, reduced to 90,000 euros through a settlement, imposed on Gold Energy, an energy supplier. The fine was issued for “negligent conduct in 25 infractions,” including “failure to provide information to customers, incorrect billing parameters, unauthorized change of supplier, and unfair commercial practices.”
The settlement procedure allows for a reduction of the fine in exchange for the admission of the facts, acknowledgment of responsibility for the violation, waiver of judicial litigation, and compensation for affected consumers.
Additionally, the energy regulator highlighted the penalty imposed on 11 companies operating fuel stations for the “late submission of the Complaints Book sheet to the competent authority,” leading to total fines amounting to 20,980 euros.
