In addition to working on a new album with the other members of the band Trêsporcento, which is set to release this year, Esteves (the group’s lyricist and vocalist) has just launched a new solo project.
Following his 2019 self-titled album, ‘O Alpinista’ in 2022, and the ‘Ao Vivo na Av. da Boavista’ in 2023, the musician has now released a new EP titled ‘Onde Seria Onde’, featuring four tracks. The lead single from this new work, ‘Os Fortes Não Choram’, was unveiled at the end of 2024.
‘Onde Seria Onde’ features contributions from João Gil (SAL, You Can’t Win, Charlie Brown), David Santos (Márcia, TV Rural), and João Sousa (Garfo, Old Mountain). It also includes appearances by several guests, such as Cat Falcão (Golden Slumbers, Monday) and Frankie Chavez (on the title track), João Capinha, and Pedro Branco, as highlighted in a press release.
“The artist continues to explore through his music themes that capture the human, social, and cultural reality of the country (and beyond), blending the tradition of Portuguese popular music with Anglo-Saxon folk influences, always with his unmistakable writing in Portuguese,” it is added.
This EP will be presented on June 25 at 7:30 PM at the chapel of the MACAM – Armando Martins Contemporary Art Museum, in Junqueira, Lisbon. The concert will feature Frankie Chavez, and tickets are already on sale.
