The second round matches of the Estoril Open in tennis were all postponed today due to rain, the organization announced, after successive changes to the match schedule.

With rain falling almost non-stop since 12 noon, the organizers of the only tournament on the ATP circuit in Portugal decided to cancel the second round at around 5:45 p.m., with only two of the 11 matches scheduled for today having started.

On the two secondary courts, the matches between Germany’s Dominik Koepfer and Spain’s Pablo Llamas Ruiz and Argentina’s Federico Coria and the Netherlands’ Botic van de Zandschulp still got underway before the break.

All five singles matches scheduled for the main court of the Estoril Tennis Club have been postponed, including the match between Austrian Jurij Rodionov and Chilean Cristian Garín, which began on Monday but was forced to be rescheduled for today due to rain.

Portugal’s Jaime Faria, Henrique Rocha and João Sousa, who will retire at the Estoril Open, also failed to make their debuts, as did 2022 champions Nuno Borges and Francisco Cabral in the doubles.
