The news that Eurico Brilhante Dias has been chosen by José Luís Carneiro to once again lead the PS parliamentary group was confirmed today by an official party source.
The election of the new parliamentary leadership will take place after the internal election on Friday and Saturday, where the sole candidate, José Luís Carneiro, will be elected as the new leader of the PS. This follows Pedro Nuno Santos’s resignation from the role of PS secretary-general after the party’s significant electoral defeat in the legislative elections.
The list of the parliamentary leadership, accessed by Lusa and led by Eurico Brilhante Dias, includes names from the previous leadership such as António Mendonça Mendes, João Torres, Mariana Vieira da Silva, Marina Gonçalves, Pedro Delgado Alves, Luís Graça, and Ana Paula Bernardo.
New additions to the future leadership of the socialist group include Pedro Sousa, Porfírio Silva, Rui Santos, Júlia Rodrigues, and Luís Testa.
With the start of the new legislature and before the elections are conducted, Pedro Delgado Alves has temporarily assumed the role of PS parliamentary leader.
